South Africa

South Africa is a country located at the southern tip of Africa. The country borders Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe to the north and Mozambique and Swaziland to the east. The independent state of Lesotho is completely surrounded by South Africa. South Africa is a country with diverse population groups and eleven official languages, including Afrikaans, which is related to Dutch. Swaziland officially the Kingdom of Eswatini is enclosed by Africa and Mozambique and is a special country with a king Mswati III who is not exactly monogamous. According to ancient traditions, he may marry as many women as he can support. During our tour we visited the Merula festival where he was present, an unforgettable day. At the time, he had 13 women who are treated equally, they get a house and a BMW. Z. Africa has many animal-rich wildlife parks, of which the Kruger Park is one of the best known. If you drive south through Swaziland you will arrive in KwaZulu-Natal with the well-known art town of S. Lucia, close to the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi wildlife park. From Durban East lies Lesotho with the idyllic town of Underberg at the foot of the Drakensberg where you can reach the Sani Pass to Lesotho an unforgettable ride. I have visited Z. Africa several times and continue to be impressed by the natural beauty and diversity. According to Clements, version 2021, South Africa has 891 bird species, 32 of which are endemic species.
